I am thinking of building an Ipe deck, and need advice on finishing. Or if unfinished is feasable. I like the idea of letting it naturally grey, if it grays. and i have heard of problems when it comes to finishing. any thoughts?

IPE weathers quite well, so weathering to grey is feasible. To keep it from going grey can be done, but only if you plan to devote regular maintenance to the project. For example, I liked the look of the Cabot Australian Timber Oil on Ipe, but I would expect to refresh that finish about twice a year if the deck gets full sun.
It is feasable inasmuch as its not going to rapidly degrade without it, but I suspect most people would prefer the look of an oiled (I'm thinking penofin at the moment) or some form of protective finish over natural.
IIRC, the boardwalk in Atlantic City is Ipe, and some age now, and not finished.
