My parents have a condo in Michigan (3 buildings with 9 units in each stacked three high, three across) which has recently been undergoing residing. With all the construction underway someone suggested to a board member (my Dad!) that they just bite the bullet and do the shingles while they are at it as some folks are suspicious of non-flashing roof leaks.
As it is really difficult to get in to each top unit’s multiple attic configuration and do a thorough search, I heard of one time about an IR camera setup that one could point at the roof to detect leaks. I suppose the theory of operation is where water has soaked through shingles there is a cool spot that can be detected.
Anyone ever hear of this or have experience with its use.
