Here's one way.

*Thanks--mine's on its way.Phil
*I have a dumb question...Now does this mean that IRC rules, or is BOCA still law? Is CABO now defunct? Hope someone can clue me in. My area always went by BOCA (mostly).Davo.
*It means that BOCA and CABO aren't going to update their codes anymore. It's up to individual towns, counties or states to decide which code to adapt, but if they want one that takes new issues into account, they'll have to adapt the IRC. It's quite possible that some backwater towns will still be enforcing BOCA or CABO 10 years from now. Andy
*Washington State hasn't adopted the IRC yet. We're still working with the 1997 UCBO in the two counties I work in most often (and one of those counties contains the State capital). You might check with local officials to see if they are using it yet.
*I asked about the codes down at the permitting office a while back and they told me not to worry about it. THEY will tell me how THEY want to do it when THEY want to do it.
