I Just started installing my own heat pump and I’m currently constructing the boots and elbows. An HVAC contractor will be supervising my work and providing the materials. However, I’m concerned about the tape that he’s given me to seal the sheet metal connections. It’s called “Shurflex SF-683”. It looks similar to ordinary duct tape and that bothers me a little since it has been my understanding that only foil tape should be used for HVAC ducting. I Googled the product and found that it is apparently designed for these applications, but I’d feel a lot better about using it if you guys can endorse its use.
Thanks,
Michael
