I need to rent a jacjhammer this weekend, I know they have a name for each size of hammer. i do not need a large hammer but not no chipping hammer either. How do I refer to a small to medium size hammer? Electric.

Isn't the big air compressor one called a 90 pound hammer? I thnk you want the big electric Bosch that comes on a 2-wheel cart.

Heavy air driven hammers are ninety pounders.
The electric Bosch Brute is about 67# and with sharp bits will do nearly as well on many jobs.
there are a couple other tool makers out there who have similar on the market, but the Brute is the one I see in most rental yards. I have one myself.
Whatcha destroying?

I like the 90# air.............but I like it best when my sons do the work with the heavy pig................I just pick up the compressor and the tool at the rental yard........
You might ask Gunner.......................Hehehee

Yup...90# hammer.....killer machine! For the concrete and your back!
bosch....70#...plug it in let-r-go....get-r-done...........still works on the back!
makita 35# demo hammer....heavy enough to tackle slabs, but not so heavy that it can't be used on a wall by cradling in a well padded arm!
It is always good practice to have a macho "young buck" at hand to save your back!
I'll echo Piffin's question...Whatcha tear'in up! There might be more suggestions on methods of attack!
