I have a corner where drywall meets wood and I want to put a piece of durabead on the corner. I would like to know if joint compound can be used on the wood side successfully, or will it eventually crack?

Did a repair like this a whilr back. I used dry mix and plasterweld instead of water. no callback to date and don't really expect one.
