I am looking at my 5″ insulation contact Juno recessed lights. There is a wing nut to set the bulb height adjustment. The bulb is low and I want it higher. I scratch my posterior over this a while, then go look at some old ones we put in years ago. I had gone over the tab to raise the bulb. Now that I think about this, that may not be so smart. Am I pushing the internal wiring against the external housing? I have never had a lamp overheat or any problems. Seems to be a fine line between sheer genius and absolute stupidity as usual!

the wire is rated for the use even if it touches the can...

That makes sense. I worried about the heat frying the wire over time. Those who can make you believe in absurdities can make you commit atrocities- Voltaire
