Having just returned from several days along the Gulf Coast, I’m wondering if anyone has had experience with drying out sheathing after the drywall and insulation has been removed in a house where the water level has been as high as 7 feet. These houses are slab on grade and the plumbing, wiring and framing are all OK. If the sheathing (OSB mostly, with Tyvek and vinyl siding) can be dried out, then these homeowners can save a bundle not having to mess with the outside. I’m anxious to get good, solid info to people I have met down there…..thanks so much.

Accorring to the building directors Ive talked to the past few weeks down there ;
Over four feet of water inside the house = gutting ceiling and walls to framing. Remove drywall and insulation . Let the house air dry with windows and doors open until the wood is dry by moisture meter.
edit ; Im assuming you know all flooring goes out the door .

Thanks Tim,Flooring, plus everything else (cabinets, appliances, doors,etc.) all went out the door.Wonder why the ceiling? I went up in the attic of one home, and it looked brand new. Ductwork should be cleaned probably, but everything alse looked fine.Bill
