Not sure if this belongs here or in the Tavern but:
Any recommendations for great slippers? No problem keeping most of my foot warm, but just a slab of leather between my sole and the floor isn’t nearly enough. Am looking for something with a lot more insulation in the bottom of the slipper/bootie, and haven’t really seen such a product in any of my catalogs.
Thanks.

How about a blood transfusion?
Or have your furnace fan set up slower.
REI sells a slipper brand called "Acorn", for about $10. I've got a pair, but it usually isn't cold enough around here to wear them.

yep, 5 - 6 years. guess your saying they don't sell them anymore?

The adult sneaker slipper ($19.95) is the most comfortable slipper you can imagine. I've got on a pair right now. The best way I can describe is like walking on a bed of marshmellows. They are also very warm.
Although the picture looks like they are lace-up, the laces are just sewn-in-place as decoration. They are really slip on style designed to look like high-top basketball shoes.
I bought mine a couple of years ago for $25 from a local sports collectibles store (under the name "Comfy-Feet"). They had all of the local university logo styles. The website now only shows them in various colors without the logos. If you want a logo style, let me know, and I can do little research to find out if your team is available.

$24.95 for a bunch of teams.
A great Christmas gift for the fan who thinks they have everything.

That was my first thought too. The wife and I tuck our toes under a 90 pound Aussie / German Sheppard mix. The dog stays warm with the three year old human using him for a pillow. The kid takes the brunt of a full on space heater blast and it's all good and toasty for everyone.
... Not very productive though. It's very important that you get your snacks and beverages handy, first. A run to the fridge upsets the entire balance of the toasty little universe. That really sucks.

And you need the full balance of snacks, unless you either, A, want to share, or B, have to get back up again.
Personally, I have inexpensive, but thick-napped socks. They'd be useless outside in any real cold, but work like tabi indoors (and let you slide past the animals on the wood floor, if a person has a mind to . . . )Occupational hazard of my occupation not being around (sorry Bubba)
Totes. They are like very thick socks with a rubber impregnated sole. They are warm because they are so thick and wrap the whole foot.
I tuck mine between my wife's thighs. She likes that...unless their REALLY cold.

I just bought some wool felt inserts for my shoes.
5/16" thick to start.
They are made by a company called Pioneer, in canada.
I bought them at the feed and farm supply when I went to get propane.
1.99 for the pair.
Maybe I'll get another pair to put in the bottom of my down filled, over the ankle, slippers.
(I have terrible circulation. My feet are ALWAYS cold, even in the hottest part of the summer.)

Buy a pair of sheepskin slippers. If that doesn't do it, you need something with heating elements and batteries.
(I'm talking about the type with no hard sole on 'em. Your foot is wrapped up in a sheepskin, basically.)

I like the idea of the (cheap!) felt inserts and will start with that. (Actually I like the idea of RFH the best but that's not going to happen here.) If that doesn't cut it, will try the sheepskin.
Thanks for all the ideas. (No dog, and wife scoffed at using her ;-(

You can chop wood in the snow in these moccasins.
Not me.
They won't even keep my feet warm around the house.

Next house, put in radiant floor. In mines, I fortunately ran a 'couple of tubes that ended up right underneath where the recliner ended up.

Seems like slippers would be cheaper and a whole lot less work. ;)

You got that right!
But then some people have boats and snowmobiles, I like to mess around with radiant hydronics. Go figure.
My son got me these for Christmas.
