Killing two birds with one framing structure

What would be the best way to accomplish both these goals?
I have a small house (about 50′ x 25′) with a low ceiling (about 6′) and a 2×6 overhead joist structure. (1) I want to raise the ceiling and (2) thicken the overhead joist structure enough to accommodate 14″ tall split head “ceiling cassettes” and put in a floor in the attic for storage completely covering the cassettes. The cassettes don’t require any airspace over them.
Thanks,

As much more info as you can provide.
I’m trying to figure out a house with a current 6 ft ceiling height.
A Summer cottage perhaps?
