I had a drink or seven with an old friend from school last week who is now chemist for MasterChem Ind and she told me that she has been working on this new product for their Kilz line called High Build.
http://newfromkilz.com/
It is supposed to be, as she said, formulated for spraying and build a thick prime coat so it has high single coat hide, odor elimination so on and so forth. She said to the effect that the can instructions say you can roll but the paint is honestly only for spraying. It is latex and while I think that Kilz 2 is marginal at best she said this stuff is better because it is closer to what the Original does but is water-base.
I have sprayed hundreds of gallons of Kilz Original oil base but I have to cut it with Flotrol or the like cause it seems to gum up after awhile.
Right now I guess they are test marketing it at some HD’s in STL and Boston she said with a price of around $80 to $90 for 5 gal. So I have to wait to play with it.
Has anybody used/seen/heard of it yet? I wonder if it is hype (my company/ my product is great Ra Ra Ra) or if it is actually good stuff.

Disclamer: I have not been in HD in about a year, I normally use BM products, and I have used other ‘high build’ primers before but they did not seem that great and wonderful like she is talking about.

From the title I thought maybe you where talking about the high that you can get from the solvent based Kilz.
.
A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
That's why you are supposed to wear a mask when spraying that stuff Bill.
