This forum probably isn't the place for appliance discussion - not because it isn't appropriate, but because you probably won't get a lot of responses. You could try Cook's Talk, or a place called GardenWeb, which has a really good appliance forum where high-end appliances are discussed ad nauseam. FWIW, I'd buy Thermador products without hesitation. I was looking at a Thermador dishwasher today at a local appliance store sale, and they are made by Bosch and branded Thermador. Their star burners are very nice on the cooktops and ranges.
Many of the people I've done work for have installed Thermador appliances. One couple just installed a nice electric cooktop with wall oven below. The house I'm building now will have a gas cooktop, wall oven, and vent hood from Thermador. They're up there with SubZero, Viking, Bosch and Asko as brands we install on every house.
I cannot speak for particular brands, but I would like to make some general comments. There seems to be a trend toward massive commercial appliances in kitchens. I'm not sure this is a good idea. Oddly enough, the one commercial appliance that has not caught on is the commercial dishwasher; a pity, since the 30 second cycle would be appreciated by all. Commercial appliances are, first of all, big. Even huge. I question the wisdom of firing up a 30 x 60" griddle just to fry a couple eggs. Another important point, often overlooked, is the "other" difference between commercial appliances and residential ones: surface temperature.
Residential appliances, when tested by UL, are required to keep things like oven doors cool enough that a child will not be burned by touching them. Commercial appliances are not subject to this test. Finally, there is the matter of energy use. I don't think I can pay the energy bill, alone, for some of these McMansions I've seen.
I have one comment - overpriced.
Having said that, don't worry about the heat issues et al. Thermador's residential products are designed for the home.
