In the image here, you, the viewer, are a fly on the vaulted ceiling way up above the kitchen. The peak of the vault is about 21′-6″ above the floor, and that island, and the countertops in the L shape against the floor, are all way down there, lighting-wise.
You can gage the degree of ceiling slope when looking to the R in the pic. It is a 10:12, and its spring point height, above the sink wall straight ahead, is close to 10 feet.
Everything chosen for the interiors is “craftsman” in style, thus, a lot of Rejuvenation fixtures are around the place.
How would you best light this kitchen?

If it was my own place, 8 ft fluorescent tubes in custom fixtures. No joke.
Some form of low, hanging light for the island. Wall sconces elsewhere.

I don't know if this link works, let me know.
Even though you have the high ceiling, you need to keep the fixtures low for the Craftsman feel.
