I would like to get some advice on venting behind an insulated kneewall in a 200 year old cape post and beam. There are no ridge vents and no way for air to circulate from the eaves to the ridge. There are vents cut into the non-living space behind the knee wall but do not “flow through” to the opposite gable end. The space is very cold mid-winter (New Hampshire). Is the modest air circulation good or should they be covered or eliminated?

Simply install high and low exterior roof vents
1 sq ft of vent for every 300 sq ft of enclosed attic area. 50 % low, 50% high.
