Does anyone have any experience with, or received any feedback about the new Kohler Smart Divide kitchen sinks? The divider is about half the height of those found on most kitchen sinks, and it’s supposed to make it easier to fill pots, soak pans, and wash larger cookware. I’m trying to decide whether or not to install one in my new kitchen. My fear is that the water level won’t be deep enough for washing dishes. I would appreciate any experience you have had with these sinks.

I haven't seen one of those. It should be easy to decide if the water level would be adequate by comparing the height to the level you actually use use on your current sink, unless I'm missing something.
One picture I saw had both basins full above the divide at the same time.
I am not familar with that.
I have an older design that has one large deep sink and a smaller shallow one and realy like it.
.
A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
Is that the type with the disposal in the smaller, shallower sink? I've got that one, & we've always kept a small dish rack in the small sink. The rack is worn out, & I can't find a replacement anywhere...P****ing me off big time!
Well I have the DG in the smaller sink.I beleive that this discussion came up a while back and there a bunch
is crazy people that put it in the big side. This is the one that I have.http://www.us.kohler.com/onlinecatalog/detail.jsp?from=thumb&frm=null&module=Kitchen+Sinks&item=312702&prod_num=5924-2§ion=1&category=5&resultPage=0-1047860134And they have a basket.http://www.us.kohler.com/onlinecatalog/detail.jsp?from=thumb&frm=&module=Wire+Rinse+Baskets&item=330502&prod_num=6511§ion=1&category=7&resultPage=0--1195974025But is says only for ones after Oct 96.I had a cutting board with mine that fit over the small side with an
opening over the GD. It rotted out and I made a new one.I don't thnk that they have them any more..

Thanks for the link....doesn't look like it will fit in mine .....D&&m
Looks like I'll have to find some Plastidip & fix mine up.....
I haven't filled a sink with water in years, unless I'm defrosting something. I might fill an individual pot, then put in anything else that needs softening into that. Otherwise a spritz before wiping, scrubbing, or tossing into the dishwasher is all I ever do.

Have it.
Love it.
Recommend it.
A La Carte Government funding... the real democracy.
I've installed one. Special ordered in black. Gorgeous sink. The lower divider is a good idea. You should love it.

Thank you.
