Good morning. Super bowl pick? Been awhile for me, and I need advice, thanks!! A recent customer has requested “plastic” white trim for a covered entrance, including columns, balcony rails, ballusters, and necessary gutters. I’m very concerned about expansion and contraction of joints, esp at gutter mitres. Ambients are a bit above 32 deg. at this time of year, but the Cape gets its share of dog days. Leave gaps? Epoxy joints? Suggestions? I’ll be in your debt, and thank you.

Azek recommends using their glue (of course) when gluing up joints. You can look at their guidelines for installation. I used it to replace rotted trim above a door and it was open on both ends to cover the existing trim (the original was done the same way.
Here is a link to their guidelines: http://www.azek.com/insguide.asp

If you ever have time go to a JLC conference. They have a presenter there by the name of Tom Carty who is very knowledgeable and approachable. He knows everything about Azek.
