Got to thinking about getting the Kreg K2000 ProPack Pocket hole system. Best price so far is about $125.
Was wondering what prices you all paid for yours when you got ’em?
Since regardless of the rave reviews from others my new Bosch 12volt Impactdriver isn’t the marvy tool to have for me, if someone wanted to trade straight up for a new Kreg K2000 I’d be willing.
What’s the best price I might expect to pay for the K2000?
Thanks

Got mine about a year and a half ago. Paid 119 I think -- at a local shop, so no shipping costs.
Unless you're the lead dog, the view just never changes.
Razz, look for those prices to possibly drop in the coming months. Kreg is introducing a new jig, so if you want the current model, you might be able to find a good deal. FWIW, I paid $125 about 3 years ago.
Thanks.
What's in the new model that differs from the old?

Check it out here, Razz...http://www.kregtool.com/products/pht/index.phpNew one has built in dust collection, simpler to adjust, etc.
Well ya.
Thanks again for the reply.

So, you gonna hold out for the new version, or try to find a good deal on the current one?
As much as I'll use it the old model will probably be ok. I mean it was the status quo for how many years?
The new model's fine tuning specs are probably valuable to an often user and probably worth an extra $25 over the normal costs of the old model.
But I imagine now I'm looking at around $100 for the K2000 so I'll be keeping the impact and it'll serve me fine.
be maybe $95

I pre ordered the new jig at amazon. The price was $149 but I got $30 off for signing up for the amazon credit card.
I think the new jig has more than enough improvements to make it the choice over the pro pack. The dust collection is nice, it also has a better clamp (a disc on each side), the adjustments are every 1/8" and looks easier than the pro pack. Also the main jig clamping is on the same side as the drill guides which will make it easier than reaching across.
Either way they are both great jigs but I think the K3 would be a better choice.
rez I bought my jig about 10 years ago. Its a old style metal one. Works great. but after checking out the new one I would spend the extra money and get the new one if I were you.
Get the kit. plus I would buy the new bench clamp to.
In fact im going to buy the new bench clamp. I got some F/F to build and that bench clamp seems like it would be da bomb

razz,
I just bought the pro-pak from WoodWorkers Supply, paid $118.00, but I have a commercial account with them. The catalog prce is $ 139.00 in their latest book. I'm sure they will be dropping that price once the new jig hits the market.TCW Specialists in Custom Remodeling.
Ok, now I'm down to $70.

I've owned the Kreg2000 for about 2 years. It is a very handy tool I've found many uses. from cabinetry to construction. Check with local distributors for a bunch of different fastiners for many uses including outside uses. If you do buy the Kreg jig make sure you get the complete kit because each of the different jigs have unique uses.
