Alright, I admit I’m behind the eight ball on this one…
I mean, I knew that pocket joinery was helpful at times, and a good deal came around at Rockler a few months back…so I bought the pro kit from Kreg. I didn’t get around to opening it until this weekend–man, what a sweet tool!
If I had known I would love this thing so much, I would have bought it, nevermind opened it much sooner!

I've used my Kreg a ton lately. Pre made casing frames for every window in 5 units i'm trimming out (approx 20 windows per unit). Cut every part and built on floor.
Worked out a lot faster with the right prep work to the windows ensuring the jambs were tight and square.
The GC was amazed and I was the talk of their company.

Sorry. Couldn't resist.
I never met a tool I didn't like!
Having just consumed two 1,000 unit boxes of pocket screws on a kitchen remodel, I can tell you the savings the Kreg tool provided far out weighed its small investment cost.
There are some tools that may pay for themselves and there are other that you don't need to wait to get them on sale. If you are making face frames, this one if a no brainer.
My only complaints are with the rear mount clamp and it looks like they fixed that with the new model and the fact that I have to mail order the screws.

......that I have to mail order the screws.
You might want to check. Around here (the other coast, North Carolina) the bib box stores all carry some types of pocket hole screws. The selection is limited, so you still might need McFeely's, but it might be worth a try.
Unless you're the lead dog, the view just never changes.

check the kreg site for "locate a distributor" I found one about 30 miles away. Also Lowes is supposed to have the pocket hole screws available. Although I never tried them. A lowes store opened about 10 miles away I may try. But I still like to buy from the independents. So I may not try the Lowes (but it won't hurt to ask).
I own a kreg and love it
Lowes sells the kreg jigs and accessories so I cannot imagine they wouldn't sell the screws.
Thank you - I will give Lowes a try. We have one ~15 miles away. (call first!)
