I recently installed laminate flooring in my living room and am about to install it in the hallway. The hallway, bedrooms and living room all used to be carpet, all the same carpet. I pulled up the carpet down the hall and prepared the strand board subfloor and am about to put down the laminate flooring; the only thing stopping me is how do I make the transision from the laminate to the carpet. I have the “carpet reducing” molding that laminate flooring calls for. The laminate side is not the issue. The carpet side of this molding is where lies my concern. How do I cut the carpet straight enough and, do I need to use a tackless strip under the carpet to hold the carpet in place? Or do I use double sided carpet tape? I really want this to look professionally done when I am finished. I have three doorway transision areas to do like this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! My flooring is by Dupont.
