Hi everyone. I need to install some floating laminate flooring. The small entry way where the flooring will go has a door that leads to the garage. The flooring will be perpendicular to the door way.
What is the bet way to detail this area, and capture the ends of the flooring planks? I hate to put a four in one molding up against the threshold it is going to look clumsy and might cause tripping. I am not sure about just butting it up with the threshold, because of traffic and wear plus the threshold isn’t really a nice perpendicular edge to but to. It has a rounded edge.
I could replace the threshold with a wooden one, but it would need to be such that I could rabbet it to fit the flooring. The existing threshold is an aluminum one with gasket.
Some of the advice I got was to put a bead of construction adhesive in that area then just but the planks up tight?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

One that would do what it's supposed to allowing movement of the flooring would be your idea of changing out the thresh with a wood one. Cut is out so it lips over the end of the flooring. Might give you an opportunity to raise it's height, cut the door down to fit and still allow room under the door sweep to lay down a rug.
