Hi guys,
I am doing an estimate for a customer and I never installed laminate flooring. He has the materials and he bought it at home depot. It is installed over a foam padding. One room is 12 x 12 and the other is 12 x 24 which has a small closet. The stairs are not square and have a curve in it. And it has steam pipes too I need to go around. And I need to install new baseboard.
My question is: How long does it take one person (me) with medium skills to do this job? Or how much should I be charging labor for this? I live in Central PA area.
Thanks.

2 days for an experienced crew. Probably more like 4-5 days minimum for one guy who is just figuring it out.
To install this flooring properly so you don't have any "soft" spots the floor has to very flat. The flooring manufacturer probably states something like 1/8 inch over 10 feet. And most existing floors don't meet that standard. But you need to come close. So figure some time to improve the floor flatness.
There are also different ways laminate flooring locks together, some are quick and some are a royal pain. That could make a significant difference in install time.
The baseboard should be done last as it will lock down the laminate.
