Laminate or Other Flooring for a Rental Home
What is best laminate flooring for rental homes? We just bought our first couple rental homes that need new carpet. i’d rather put in a little extra money into flooring that will stand the test of time. Any recomendations on material? Also, would you recomend installing in bedrooms or just the high traffic areas?
Also, I’m not a fan of the hollow sound that you hear when walking on some of the flooring types. is there a way to avoid this?
Thanks
Matt

rental?
or long term lease with substantial damage deposit ?
If rental, cheapest carpet you can find - there is no laminate flooring that will hold up for renters who DGAS.
re: 'a little extra' : you're living on a different planet than me (or maybe a differnet country? Decent online capret is abou 70 cents sq ft, any laminate flooring that has even a chance of holding up is $3 sq ft, $2 if you can find a closeout with enough for the size you need. To most folks, that is more than 'a little' ?
edit ps: assuming DIY install? IF not difference is even greater, carpet is fast and easy to install, esp if replacing existing carpet.
Cheap laminate such as the stuff from Costco will outlast carpet many times over - a bad renter will trash carpet in a single year
