I’m tired of using the small strait-line boxes for snapping layout lines. I am thinking about the larger Keson boxes but have not seen one in person to try out. Do they have a fast rewind? Are the lines that are used in the larger boxes able to snap more lines per rewind/rechalk?

Jon,
I've seen the Straightline stringline that is very similar to this. I has a very thick string. In fact I would call it a rope :-) I'll lay a line that is about 1/4" wide. I thought about getting one too until I saw it at a JLC LIVE.
you just get more snaps before you have to refill it. the string doesn't hold more chalk. i know a roofer who had one but didn't really like it because of the size.

I know you're not looking for a double box, but I just bought this one from Keson

Built pretty cheap but what do I want for 13 bucks? anyway, seems to hold a decent amount of chaulk and the line is a bit heavier then a standard straightline.
What color chaulk are you using?
I've noticed using black chaulk I can get a few more snaps out of a line over red and especially over blue.
I thought about the double, but I figured I can just do what I have been doing. Tie to ends together in a loose loop. If I did more roofing, I would probably spring the $13 for it, but I think you know where I'm going.
I am using red as it's going on I&W shield. I have blue, red, and white. Never gotten black, orange, or that red/white mixture that you prefer.

I wouldnt waste the 13 bucks again...
I would by the other double box that looks a little better built... it does it make it faster snapping lines with 2 people on roofs and if you snap lines for siding etc.
give the black a try, I like it anyway...
and pink is a no-no
