Thinking about using a 12″ sonotube as a base for a sheetrock corner, then applying two layers of 1/4″ rock. Is there a better way? The radius does not have to be exact, so the nominal size of the sonotube is fine.
I’m sorry, I thought you wanted it done the right way.

Sounds like a great idea thanks I will have to try that one.
Be sure to wet the sheetrock, if you haven't already planned to.
I would probably forego the sheetrock and use wire lath and plaster. I have never had a lot of luck bending sheetrock and have had to plaster it anyway to get a smooth even surface. In any event you will have a lot of fun trying something new.
Inside or out??
Anyway, what Schell said.
While your at it, why not bend the wire lathe to the tube, bend a small flange on either side to use for a nailer.
Scratch it with Structo Lite and then top coat with setting type compound.

Outside corner. Trying to ease the visual impact of a corner in a bad place.

I did an 11" radius once with sheetrock. The Sonotube for the base is a good idea I used horizontal pieces of plywood cut to the curve. I then covered the wall with a thin plywood. I used a piece of cheep paneling I had laying around. Then you have to really wet the sheetrock well. I laid it outside on top of another piece of the paneling and left a sprinkler on it for a few hours until it was totally saturated. I could then pick it up using the paneling for support. Good luck.
