In your opinions, what is the most accurate, affordable laser that will project lines on floors for setting interior walls, tile, etc… and also a plumb line for vertical adjustments? Starrett, porter cable, pls, strait-line, dewalt, b&d.
Thanks

Robo-toolz--AKA Porter Cable
they have a three beam and a five--go for the five--price jump is minimal.
Had mine 3-4 years and have checked it twice and never had to adjust it--comes with a case and neeto red glasses.
there are more that are nicer and more expensive but buck for buck I wouldn't hesitate to pick one up.

On our jobs we predominently use pls lasers.
pls3 <3way> & pls5 <5way>
Have never had an issue always a bright light when battery was good ofcourse & the self leveling has always been consistant.
But I'm sure someone else will have different preference aswell.
I also have a portercable that gets tons of use ( the one with a pendulum, not mechanical leveling, but if I was buying again I would look into the pls that makes solid lines.
If I was rich, Hilti. We use them at work all the time.

PLS 2.
I think it'd meet all your requirements.

Jeff,
Will that PLS2 lay a line on a horizontal surface such as a floor for laying out interior walls?
I'm not understanding what yer trying to do?
it will show a horizontal line across a floor though. Makes for a temp lazer chalkline, so to speak. Just gotta sit it back far enough for the lazer to "fan out" ...
has 4 settings. auto level plumb. auto level level. auto corsshairs plumb and level.
and locked crosshairs. This one "locks" the crosshairs so U can pick it up and shine it upside down or any which way ... like to lay out 90's ( + ) on a tile floor.
Hope this answered your question.

I been wantin a cross hairs level...
I've noticed there are a slew of "less expensive" ones out there.
David White has one for about 120$
PLS-2 is 230$(for comparison)
Sams club has one for 22$

Jeff,
Yes it does, I was looking for a laser that projects lines on floors instead of snapping lines or in addition to.
Amazon (Tool Crib) sells the PS2 for $249 and the PLS3 for $199 but what about the less expensive ones have you tried any other brands: porter cable, strait-line, fat-max?
I have had one of those Straight Line Laser Chalklines since they first came out.
I think I paid $50 for it ... now, what are they? $20?
anyways ... for it's single purpose ... shooting a straight line on interior work ...
works just fine. I still use it on tile jobs. Have a $250 laser ... a $500 laser ...
and a now $20 laser ... and still find uses for the (now)$20 deal.
for strictly shooting a straight reference line across the floor ... it works just fine.
don't think of using the silly bubble level on the top for anything ... and have fun handing it to someone and watching them poke their fingers with the "mounting pins" before they find the on/off switch ...
one man chalk line ... works just fine.

Yes it will it has several modes, vertical line on wall, horizontal line on wall, vertical & horizontal line on wall and fixed cross hairs for floor. You get out of life what you put into it......minus taxes.
Marv
And if you put it on the floor, it'll run that line out on the floor and up the wall, plumb. Nice laser.Remodeling Contractor just outside the Glass City.
