Hello,
We are planning on putting a hardwood floor on top of concrete in our backsplit. In the past, we have layed hardwood on main floors, but have never done on top of concrete.
My question is, how should we prep the floor? what do we need to lay down first? I’ve heard of self leveling concrete, as well as many subfloor solutions. We’re not sure where to start with this.

Solid hardwood is not recommended. The idea product is engineer, prefinished hardwood flooring. There is glue down and floating available. You can even get hardwood laminate. It's still an engineered hardwood but clicks together like a laminate. Engineered hardwood is basically looks like plywood witha prefinished hardwood skin. It is designed to go were regular hardwood cant.
hope that helps
