Have any of you used this for flashing. I’m trying to make my chimneys a bit more “bulletproof”, and was thinking that this would be a viable alternative than rolled lead.
What type of solder do I use?
I’m thinking mainly for the bottom piece of flashing on a chimney, actually the first piece to be installed, with soldered wrap around corners.
Any enviromental concerns?
Thanks in advance.

We spec and use it all the time.Works well and solders easily using 50/50 bar solder.
In the small amount you will use the environmental concerns are minimal.
Have a wire brush to ruff up the surface prior to flux, I have had found that getting to the actuall copper is almost impossible, it knits real well, but removeiung the the oxidized lead will help a lot.
Ruby Fluid, is ok, but I bet a paste type flux would be better in a controlled app.
Use an iron, torch weld is good on flat work, but you can't ever get a bead in a verticle or sloped area...
Remember the cardnil rules of plumbing, follow the heat, is where the flow will go. Flux aplenty.
Add a fer cross sticthes that are somewhat cold as insurance on flat laps.
Holy crap..almost 2 yrs in the field and I am expert..Thanks to Grant, and Dale, and Youse.
With my ankle like this, I might be over and out as far as roofing goes.
