I’m doing a bathroom remodel. Before I close up the subfloor, I was thinking about adding to the copper supply a tee with a short run and then capping it. At some point I might want to put in a hot-water recirculation system. I’m not sure if I’d ever really want to put one in, but I figure while the floor is off, the water supply is off, it’s only an extra tee…
So, the question. I’m concerned that since no water will be circulating in this small section of capped pipe, little nasties will start growing in there and I wouldn’t want to use it anyway. Not to mention possible contamination to the normal water supply?
Any thoughts?
Thanks much,

Just install the "T" in the up position with a threaded brass cap or a ball valve
