Anyone care to share their experience with the current crop of Li hammer drills?

My buddy has a Makita SDS rotary hammer Lith-Ion. Awesome for tapcon drilling, but we hurt it by welding a 4" holesaw to a sds spline shank..don't do that. It stripped something inside.

I don't need a cordless SDS Drill/chipper at present. Below are a sample of what I'm looking at, any other brand reviews are helpful and appreciated.http://www.boschtools.com/Products/Tools/Pages/BoschProductDetail.aspx?pid=18636-01

When I first heard of the Makita hammer/impact/drill combo, THAT was what I lusted for. I was hanging a lot of gutter/downspout and it would have been the ticket. The price was high, and not available locally for quite some time, so I never did get it. But researching like you are I settled on that as about the best going.
I have the 18 v non-lith DeWalt for about 2 yrs now, it has seen moderate use, it was respectable, but of late it is beginning to smell like the smoke wants to start coming out..it may have had the trigger slightly depressed and run REALLY slow in a tool drawer in the van..thats all I can think of.
Unless it is a few small holes, I feel a corded hammer drill is always gonna get used more, just one of them tools that is handy to have cordeless, but corded still works better. I hate it when a hole is half drilled, and the batt poops out, and is a hike back to the truck, or no other batt is charged and ready.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

I have a 28 V Milwaukee hammer drill (not the SDS One). It's very powerful, I have used it as a drill with a 4" hole saw and have used it to drill and drive Tapcons. For 2 1/2 " tapcons in new concrete I get 50- 75 or so per charge. In older concrete you'll get a lot less.
I love my Makitas. I drive a lot of GRK structural lags and wonder how I ever managed without these tools. Noisy devils though.

Sorry. I was referring to my impact drivers. I don't even own a cordless hammer drill.
The Bosch is the one I use. Friday drilled 25 holes for lag bolts in 6x6 treated posts and 2 2x12's using 58 auger bit. Never even slowed down. Then used the same drill and battery to hammer drill 18 3/8 red heads into concrete supports for 6x6 posts.
We used mine because boss's Makita corded passed out.
