I know I saw this stupid geometry and I can’t find it! I am looking for the spread of light from a standard 6″ can from an 8 foot ceiling. Or the angle from center to edge.
Also, is can quality all that dfferent from say Halo to Juno?

the spread is affected by the type of trim and the type of lamp, your results will vary ! LOL
Halo and Juno .....six of one......... which one has the trims you want?
I prefer Halo, just because I have installed more of them
IMHO the rough-in cans themselves are pretty much the same
Maddog is right, but as a guesstimate you can assume the spread is about 30 degrees, so an 8 ft ceiling will cast an 8 ft circle on the floor. Usually you want some overlap to the circles, so cans spaced at 4' to 6' is about right. At kitchen counter height the spread is less, so the cans should be closer together.

You need the photometric data for the lamp (bulb). Juno has this info at their site.
Thanks. I thought it was about 8'. I kind of like to think about the layout on the floor and extrapolate back to the ceiling.
