I made a post a few days back regarding installing a pine tongue and groove ceiling in a new building. We will be installing on a 2-12 pitch ceiling, starting at the wall which is 10 feet high and going to the peak, 47 courses or 1 x 6 material.
I am looking at the line lasers by Bosch, model GLL2-80.
Has anyone had experience with this tool or would you have any suggestions.
I was planning on using it to help establish the first course and move it along and check about every 4 th course and see how we are doing.
Thanks

I have a PLS 180 plumb/level, both together (still plumb/level) and the cross hairs. I suppose I could use it for layout, at least in beginning to check the line of wall to ceiling for starting. After that, measure and chalk line would be just as quick or quicker than trying to realign a laser.
As for squaring with the sidewalls..............it might help figure out how to deal with the problems............but something out of whack on the long wall ceiling line will be more apparent than end cuts at the wall. If trimed there-it'll disappear quickly. Even slight variation on end cuts with no trim-never see it (tho you'll have to cut it-be handy to have two saws -one for each end)
Use after the ceiling? you bet. All the time.
Since it's got a magnet base (I think-might be in the right place), you can screw a pc of metal stud track to the ceiling to hang it from-move as necessary.
You're just looking to buy a new tool. I wouldn't use a laser for that job anyway, string and tape wiil do it faster, better an certainly cheaper.
