As I was reading your interesting linoleum article I was quite shocked by the claims of linoleum’s lowest CO2 emission compared to to other flooring materials. It is not that I agree or disagree with the ratings, but the quantity of the emissions listed is ludicrous. I will simply say that if hardwood flooring emits 1440 kg of CO2/m squared of flooring we are really in trouble. The tree itself absorbed CO2 during it’s growth and some amount of energy was needed to manufacture the flooring, but it is probably close to carbon neutral. I have a hard time comparing and believing flooring products for use based on the article data. Perhaps some proofreading and a reality check on units is called for.
