Thanks !
I haven't seen one of those since the eighties Huck! I din't think they existed anymore!
I had one once and it was rather useful. I think I'll get another.
The one major problem I had with the thing was that it tends to torque sideways because of the way it's built. I almost got around to making a better one but my metalsmithing skills are lacking and I never quite finished it.
For light duty movement, those things work great.

Blue, we've got a few of those. The "trojan" brand that Huck posted does exactly what you said.... torque sideways and bend out of shape. But, Tim Uhler just posted a link a few minutes ago to the Qual-Craft website and their wall puller. Scroll down that link and you'll see the Qual-Craft Pee-Vee. They are built much much better and hold up well. I've got a couple and love 'em. We use 'em for sucking walls in to the snap line, cranking intersecting walls together..... you're crafty.... you can figure it out. :)

And you can use them like Nunchucks :-)
Have you seen Napolean Dynamite (sp?)? If not, you should.
Thanks !
You rock, I will settle a bet on this one from your post ! ! I Found the hook part in a crawlspace on a remodel and had a bet going for a couple of days about this tool. I picked up a piece of 3/4 x1/4 flat bar , drilled the pivot hole and ground an angle on the tip and showed it to one of my carps and (new kid) and he still didnt believe me what it is/used for.
I printed the thread and will show him in the a.m. Lunch is on him tomorrow!!
ThanksLand of the boring 4/12 hip roofs...

Man, I've seen a log peavey somewhere that had something like a foot welded on the crook of the hook...whoa, an alliterative logging tool, cool...when you hooked a log in the peavey, you could roll it, and the peavy would hold it up off the ground...be a nice chain saver. Finally got the woodstove in, I need all the help I can get. Hey, pocket doors can't come off the track if they're nailed open
It is called a timberjack. For "jacking up" timbers off the ground. Works really well.Andy"It seemed like a good idea at the time"
I suggest getting the Qualcraft version of the wall puller http://www.qualcraft.com/CONSTRUCTION.html
Heres a pic of it. I just works much better. http://pic9.picturetrail.com/VOL293/2163851/8885471/123833096.jpg
