What’s the longest wood cutting jigsaw blade I can get for a Bosch jigsaw? I’ve seen some links googling, but they appear to be in the UK (no idea why).
Thanks, PJ

I have som 6-7"....don't know the max.
Maybe try googling "sabre saw blades".???
I remember having the exact same quandary
found something at Lowes ( not the one nearest me )
just cleared some net 3" rafter tails I was scrolling
think they are Bosch brand
I'll monitor this thread and get you more info if someone doesn't get you there
Dear pjmcgarvey:
I just looked into this issue while trying to find a blade to cut a 3 1/2 thick piece of old pine. The longest blade that you can find easily (like at Lowe's or Home Depot) is 5 1/4 inches long. These are the Progressor blades by Bosch. I have not seen and have been unable to find longer blades.

The largest you will probably find might be the festool ones. The festool blades are thicker so they do not wander as much as long blades tend to do. Check out Woodcrafts website (they sell festool) to find the closest store, there must be one near philly, or check the dealer locator on festools website and see if there are festool dealers closer.

They sell a 6" blade for metal (155mm), McFeeley's carries them too, BTW:

Bosch has a pretty complete listing of all their blades here:
http://www.boschtools.com/accessories/accessories-detail.htm?H=176309&G=54783
The longest of which has a working length of 4.92", 6" total length, Coastal tool carries them, HD and Lowes website don't seem to carry them.

look for the Bosch Progressor blades.. they're about as long as I've seen....

I bought some carbide tipped jig saw blades for tile and finally used them last week, worked nice!
Grunge on.
Until I can get my tile saw back from my parents at their vacation house their renovating, I might have to do the same. What kind of speed setting did you use, orbiting action, etc. just curious. Did it give you a pretty clean cut, were you able to get pretty straight lines? Wondering if it's better to cut with the face down or up?
Thanks, PJ
I cut with the tile face down on a towel because the saber saw deck will scratch the tile (this I know from experience). I have no fancy saw, but I did cut on a medium speed and got a decent cut. I also only had a couple of cuts to make and it was way easier than dragging out the tile saw, filling it up with water and making a mess.
Grunge on.
Always wondered why someone doesn't make a jigsaw and sawzall that has interchangable blades.
be where's Dino?
