A guy installing my air exchanger said he’d like to come across a 6-1/8″ hole saw for installing his pipes. I thought I’d ask you guys as too whether or not it is possible to get a hole saw in this size. Let me know the website(s) of where i can get a hole saw of this size.
Thanks again
Paul

I see McMaster Carr selling them in small increments all the way up to 6 inches, but it stops there.

The Greenlee site is screwed up.......I found the saw herehttp://www.toolup.com/productinfo_froogle.asp?ID=35717&Man=Greenlee&AdCamp=Froogle"
HD has the greenlee holesaw
I've got one out there in a box somewhere. It's 6-1/4" It looks brand new, I got it from a heating guy who gave it to me saying that he couldn't get it to work... just kept ripping the drill out of his hands.
Upon inspection, it was attatched to the arbor, but there was no pilot bit!!!!
I can only imagine how much fun that guy had trying to wrestle that thing.
I'm not sure what brand it is. it's white, so I just always assumed it was a milwaukee." If I were a carpenter"
Paul, I found it. Its called a matrix extreme, their was an ad in a back issue of jlc.
Hope That Helps.
Someone here posted about the Matrix a year or more ago.http://www.costofwar.com/

It seems pretty neat to me, looks really well thought out
holy Sh!t.........coooooool ,I like the ability to turn a novice into an expert in seconds...LMAO that's just what we all need"
Yeah I dont need one. But I sure want one to play with. I bet it beats the heck out of a sawzall for a lot of stuff. You know, you could probably scare the kids pretty good with one of those.
....uh huh......thanks agin"
Try the 6". I have never used a hole saw that didn't wallow the hole out. IMO a 6" saw will get you pretty close to 6-1/8". If your down by 1/32" he breaks out his half-round rasp and lays a few strokes into it.
You can make it cut a bit wider by orbiting the butt of the drill some as it cuts. Be careful though because this can increase the odds it will bind.
If the bit grabs the same honking drill that is needed to drive it is going to come at you and it can do considerable damage. If it happens on a ladder you might get whacked and then fall. It can ruin your whole day.
I know lenox makes one. If you have a hard time finding one, check HVAC supply houses. Its a common round duct size so they carry them.
HD has them but they are like $45.00. It be cheaper to get one of those adjustable hole saw.
