I was told some companies used to make a tool, or sheet, or RULER (what one person called it) to determine how much concrete needed for pouring foundations and/or foorings. can any one help me find this tool or at least name it for me?
Please dont call it a calculator. I know this tool used to exist but im not sure they make it anymore
Thanks for the help

shoemaker,
Had one long ago provided gratis from concrete supplier. I think you are looking for a concrete slide rule.

I have one sitting in my lap.
It is a plastic slide rule and in the one corner of it are the words, "Concrete Calculator".
I got it as a freebie from the crete pumping company and it is printed all over the free space with his advertising, like those date books or calenders guys give away to their customers. It does not have the name of the manufacturer or printing company on it though. So I would suppose you could find one from an advertising supplier if you buy a hundred or so with your name on it.
Or maybe you could ask the concrete suppliers if they have such a thing.
No, I believe I'll keep mine.

Local redi-mix has them free. Just ask, they don't care what you call it, they'll give you one.

It's called a concrete volume computer, concrete slide rule, or sorry, a concrete calculator. Used to get them free from concrete ready mix companies. I remember my dad using them 40 years ago. Last one I got free was about 5 years ago. I have a couple with "Lafarge Corporation" printed on them. Lafarge produces cement products. Must have gotten it from concrete specialty type supplier. Also have a real nice one with "Bill Mar Sp Co" in small print on upper right corner. I still keep one in my desk on job sites, easier to use than a construction calculator.
Check with your local ready mix co.. Maybe they have some kicking around.

Could you make the photo in the first atatchment actualy slide bake n forth so we can use it? ;-)
I got a couple but it is more accurac just to use a calculator, firgure sq area x depth / by 27, add 10% for waste.
add 10% for waste.
You waste 10%? On 40 yds, say, that's expensive. I figure an extra ¼-½ yd, which has always been safe for me.PAHS Designer/Builder- Bury it!
You would have to ask Luka for that feature...

That middle one sure brings back memories of the old E6-b whiz wheel pilot's computer. It could figure out more than most of us could remember how to do.
