We are at the dreaming/thinking/gathering information stage for a cabin we wish to build. The cabin will be located on a piece of land we own and would be a three season structure. I have a old style window in mind and I don’t know of anybody that makes them. These windows are hinged like a casement, but they swing in on butt hinges. The latch is a old style brass casement latch. The glazing is single pane, true divided lite, with a mull that is no wider than 1/2″. The screens were in a heavy wood frame and were usually installed from the exterior and retained with small metal clips that rotate on a screw. Anybody know of a source for these windows? The construction is simple enough that a experience carpenter could proably build them. I would need to figure out the sizes firt though…

Try this guy http://www.smithrestorationsash.com/. Justin Smith is his name, he does nice work and is good to deal with. Used him for custom wood storms, and keep going back.
I have a bunch of them.... all 5'x4'6". Built in the 30's
just need the time to work on remove and replace them
One caution on these...the are a PITA when you can't put anything in front of them because they swing inward. No headboards, no lamps on tables under the window, nothing on the top of dressers, etc.
Harder to make weathertight than an outswinging casement, too.
Hmmm...those are definetly larger than I was thinking of. Were you suggesting that you'd be parting with them? When the time comes around, be sure to drop me a line. I might have an interest.

They are ccalled casements and are easy to build.
On the downside, they are ahrd to weather proof and screens are a PITA
