I know about Simpson CJT5 connectors for tieing a beam into the side of a column. Does anyone know the call out number for a concealed connector for tieinga column down on top of a beam (forming an upside down T)? Wish this to be concealed. I just can not find one on-line and don’t have a paper catelogue.
Thanks.

Upsidedown.
Normaly in this situation you turn a column cap or a post cap upsidedown. This is an acceptable use. Concealed is a different matter. Maybe some lags up from the bottom?
Looking for Simpson Connector (post #207811)
Hello DoRight,
Not sure if I'm understanding the question correctly, but would it work to use the T-shaped bracket and recess it into kerfs on the beams end? If the kerf were 1/4"-1/2" above the bottom of the beam it wouldn't really effect the beam structurally.
Sort of
I wish to mount a COLUMN on top of a BEAM. I wish for the connection to be hidden as would be the case in a timber frame, but don't wish to do the mortise and Tenon and pin stuff. Your idea of the kerf cut and an upside down T (bracket/steal) is an ok idea. The beam is to be a the ceiling level and if I routed a pocket in the top side of teh beam to drop the T into, and kerf cut the bottom of the column I could hid most of teh hardware. Then agian I would still have teh bolt heads showing in the sides of hte coulmn. NO? this is why I mentioned the CJT5 simpson connector for mounting the end of a beam onto teh side of a wall or column, it uses hidden pins. So is there a similar Simpson or other connector for Vertical columns ontop of beams with hidden pins?

IS that a sex line

Grow up, get your mind out of the gutter and call Simpson and ask them.
Get a sense of humor
Of course there are phones, but then how could anyone learn what best practices are and alternative methods? Is all you know is Simpson? Boring. As I said Simspons is one option, Timberlinx another. As for your suggestion to call other UNKNOWN companies, that might proof impossible as they are unknown. perhpas someone here with more knowledge than you could proved other named companies. So if I chose to limit myself to Simspson, ok, but then what the Heck good are you? I have a phone directory. What good is this board if it were limited to phone numbers? Thankfully others here have knowledge other than a phone book.
I think most people here enjoy sharing
Obviously you do not. So why be an AZ?
I think most people enjoy sharing and getting others thinking. Maybe I am wrong.

Yes, yes
Yes, I know I can look at a catolgue. My first post said as much. However, there are more than one way to skin a cat and not all of them include Simpson. Are there better hidden connectors? I found Timberlinx as an example. Seems fussy and perhaps expensive, and not sure of the engineering specs. Etc. Etc.
Any timber framers or perhaps more appropriately any post and beam builders out there?
your reading comprehension is about as good as your typing.
Call Simpson, call the other companys-ask them.
Call.
on the phone.
