Low E vs. Sun Hig performance glass
Can anybody explain the difference and practical application of these 2 types of glass, I need to okay the order for my Andersen 400 series windows, I live in CT and have a large glass casement window wall 10′ x 14′ facing south. Being in a heating climate do I want the Low E or do I want the sun high performance because of all the glass??? Is the sun glass for a cooling climate??

High performance sun is like having 'sunglass' tint on your windows 24/7. As a trainer in WI, I tell all the associates that the only time I would recommend it would be if you are on the East side of a large lake. The sun going down in the eve may glare off the lake, but keep in mind, that is still a short part of the day, and we here are dark more 50% of the time. I would NOT recommend them to you in a northern clime. It will help your SHG coefficient, but at a great loss to your Visible Light Transmittance, so you may end up using more energy burning lights than what you save with the coating. Your HP Sun has a VLT of something like 45%. It's DARK! I feel it was designed for the west and deep south.
While you could change it by ordering new panes, that would be the most expensive part of the window.
Thanks Wango1, that makes sense, I will order without the sun option.
