Im looking to get better water pressure in the shower of my mothers 2nd floor bathroom shower. It has been a trickle since I lived there many years ago. Where should I start and what should I look for? Thanks, Dave.

Source control, ventilation, and filtration are the keys to healthy indoor air quality. Dehumidification is important too.

Also it has a mixing valve typew of faucet so there is only one knob for hot and cold. Thanks.
If the pressure is better in other parts of the house I would start by removing the shower head (tub/shower?) and cleaning the screen or ports. White deposits can clog those heads up quickly.
After that I would shut off the water and take off the trim/handle and see about opening up the mixing valve to look for blockage.
Well or city water?
How old is the place? Copper or galv pipes?

THis is well water in a house built approx. in the 60's maybe 70's. As for the rest of the house, the kitchen is probably the best (right above the garage where the pump is). The other 1/2 baths, upstairs and downstairs, are just as bad as the shower. All copper pipes. The bathroom was renovated with a new tub/shower and fixtures with the water pressure staying the same. I dont know if it wasnt in the contract or wasnt addressed by the carpenter/plumber/family friend.
Thanks again.
I won't be much help, been w/o a well for 20 yrs. Have you checked the pumps set pts and seems to me I'm remembering the charge on the expansion (?) tank?A Great Place for Information, Comraderie, and a Sucker Punch.

A bad expansion tank won't cause those problems. But what can happen is that pressure with drop to almost zero before the pump starts. So there will be pressure drop outs, but not substained low pressure. But the first thing to check it the pressure gauge and see at what settting the pump starts and stops. Then look at any filters or water softeners or other equipment that is inline with with the water supply..
