I have LP horizontal lap siding and vertical LP siding (4×8 sheets) on my house in <!—-><!—-><!—->Oregon <!—-><!—-> (mild climate). I must replace the siding now due to some wrapping/cupping in both types of siding and delaminating of the material at the bottom edges of both kinds of siding. There is no evidence of mold on the interior of the house or exterior surface of the house (I applied heavy coats of paint five years ago). I plan to replace the existing LP lap siding with new lap siding. For the vertical siding, can I leave the LP vertical sheets in place (remove any pieces with visual distress) and put a new house wrap and new wood siding over the existing LP vertical siding? If so, do I need any particular wrap (looking at Tyvek or Dow Weather Mate Plus)? Do I need flashing around the existing doors/windows or will house wrap work for both types of new siding?

Are you using cedar or the cement board for the lap siding?
will use cement board to replace (entirely remove the old LP siding) the horizontal LP siding and T-111 to cover the vertical LP siding---at least that is the plan.
