I would like to start a list of all things that are used in residental construction that are made in the U.S.A. or at least the majority of the item made here. I have no political agenda, just a need to know. It seems the only thing I know for sure that is made here is the homes we build and remodel and that comes from looking back at the job just before getting into the truck at night. Thanks all.

Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again.
Sheetrock, insulation, block, concrete, kitchen cabs, electrical parts (not alot of fixtures, countertop materials, tile, carpet, wall coverings, paint, brick, windows, doors, wood products, some nails, screws..................oh I get it now, you're suggesting that all the tools are made elsewhere. You are getting more correct everyday. Hell, these carharts are now assembled in mexico of US components...............does that mean we are shipping the cotton down south?

There some fake Makita power tools on ebay that has the make in USA sticker but they counterfit. The give away one : diffent color box from tool. Remember all makita cases are blue not grey , not orange, also decal not perfect. I read this somewhere, don,t remeber where though.

Saw it someplace too, caveat emptor regarding buying on e-bay
I think it was in the latest Fine Homebuilding or maybe Fine Woodworking. I saw the exact same article.
Just remember: if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
I had a guy try to sell me a nice Milwaukee drill one time for $20. I'm sure it wasn't a fake, but I didn't want to singe my fingers. This guy looked like he didn't even know how a drill worked. In hindsight, I should have bought it, called the cops, and taken the drill to the nearest construction site, where this guy probably "borrowed" it from. I'm sure I would have gotten my $20 back as a reward from the rightful owner, and could've had a thieving dirtbag arrested.
Next time I'll think a little quicker.
My BIL in India exports clothing, he tried to set me up as a middle man, but i am not a salesman, I hate people. Anyway I was wearing a cotton polo shirt wife bought for me, he looked at it, told me the thread count and said he could sell the same shirt to me for two dollars each. I am pretty sure the wife paid a lot more then that for it... Cotton is a big crop there and labor is dirt compared to here...

One of my wife's former school mates has a factory in the Philippines where they make/made "official" shirts for Loren, Polo, Angosti, Dior, Bass, etc. - they all came off the same line and had the logos added prior to shipping. They let us have some at $2.00 without the logo. But their best deal was Marks&Sparks PJ's for $3.00..
