Hello All
Looking for Mahogany posts for mantels I need to build. I can’t seem to find a source for small dia, posts, 2 1/2″ – 5″ dia. I have google searched and e-bay searched until my eyes bugged out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Smooth, fluted, reeded, solid or veneered. Honduran or african Mahogany.

Try googeling table legs, or go to knotts.

where are you located? I do some turning like that.
I Live near Boise Idaho. I would love to commission the turnings.
you might want to contact a local woodturning chapter. There probably a turner in the group that can help you.
You can see if there's one in your area at http://www.woodturner.org
I dont know that they'll have what you need, but http://www.tablelegs.com has done right by me, and the quality of what I've received has been very good
If you want to commission it, I might look into the stores that supply these guys, like a Woodcraft, if you have one locally. More often than knot (har) they have little clubs where these turners and other hobbyists flock. I've found some rare gems that route. Including a guy who could do veneer work in a leaky garage that would best the stuff coming out of a Soho boutique. Never know. Might get lucky.

Trust me I am not being smart-alecky, but Tablelegs.com? Not in a million years would I have ever thought such a thing could exist and thrive.
Amazing what I learn here on breaktime.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

its a crazy world we live in
we could start a thread of all the sites you'd never imagine would prosper . . . but do
like a place for wacky contractor types to hang out and discuss nail bangin'"A bore is a man who, when you ask him how he is, tells you." -Bert Taylor
Thanks to all, for the suggestions, btw, tablelegs.com had what I needed style wise however not in Mahogany.
