I have the 1211, but have never used the 1212. The saw cuts like silk. Unfortunately, the fence is short and on mine, not straight. Whichever you get, you'll need a backbrace, 'cause they are heavy (at least the 1211 is, and I unload and pack it up almost every day.)
One quirk that nails me at least once a week is the chain that locks the saw down for transportion; I forget to unhook it. Gonna snap it one of these days. Maybe the 1212 resolved that.
Also, the motor is so heavy that the head does not always return fully up following a cut, so the blade is left partially exposed. Wouldn't be so bad, except the brake is slow on occassion, and when it finally does kicks in, I've seen the reaction force send the head and blade down with considerable force. Keep'a you hands clear, hear?
