Finally the new18volt MAKITA Lithium set went on sale at HD today $200 off, down to $397 for the 4-pc set. Been watching the pricing since it came out a year ago at $729. Also used my 10% off coupon and it has a rebate coupon for a Free Makita radio/charger. Xmas came early this year!

Where did you see this price? I just looked at their weekly ad and it's not there. I'm planning on buying those Makita tools, I'm just waiting for a good deal.
Just stopped by the local HD store and there was a price reduction sign on the shelf. It didn't say it was a sale or how long it would last so I quickly bought my set today. It might be a manufactures price reduction from Makita to compete against the Rigid sale in this week's flyer.
No luck here. Stores are matching the $599 internet only price.
I would have bought one in a finstant at $397.
what tools came in that package,is the rebate for radio in the box or do you get it at hd? thanks larry
hand me the chainsaw, i need to trim the casing just a hair.
why do these tools cost so much?
makitas tend to be overpriced... most things made in japan are...better quality.
I have accidentally dropped my 12V makita impact at least 3 times that I thought was fatal (worse was 6+ feet off ladder onto concrete) over my 3 years that I have owned it, and it keeps on banging. The batteries are NiMH and no longer holding the same charge I can go about 50% as much as when it was new...
Santa doesn't know it yet but she is going to be wrapping up the 18V LiON hammerdrill/driver impact kit...
That's a killer price. They have come down a bit lately but the lowest I've seen with a tool trade-in required is about $500 - plus the free radio. I don't need the whole kit, just the impact and those are still going for ~$300 for the one tool, 2 bats and a charger.
I think HD's have some flexibility or store specific deals...maybe based on their inventory. My local HD had a whole rack of the Milwaukee V28 kits last year at $729 - they gathered dust for months. They tried knocking $20-30 off and still nothing. They cleared them out in 3 days at $529 the week after Xmas.

Was the 10% coupon and free jobsite radio on the same form, or are they two different things? Where did get the coupon and radio form?
I was there today and no luck. 599. I probably would have gotten one for your price. Oh well i guess I'll keep waiting.
Headstrong, I'll take on anyone!
I paid $375 plus tax last month online for the hammer drill/impact kit with two batteries. 18v Lithium hammer drill so light it comes with a belt hook - my old milwaukee 18v is way too heavy to hang on your belt.I see it at Outlet Tools for $379 now.

He said the 4 pc set was 399.99. I wish I found it for that.
