I own both types and I tried it- the old charger wouldn't let me do it. The slot didn't fit the new battery or something like that. I'd run down to the shop right now and check but you're not gettin' me outta this chair!...........The old batteries WILL charge in the new NiCad charger, though.

that's just what I'm trying to do, use an old charger, you're right about the slots.
All I know is that the mak chargers are really tempermental. I wouldn't do any thing to get it upset. It may never forgive me. Might run up my electric bill on purpose. LOL
Can't I go 1 day without spilling my coffee?
