Makita compound miter saw on Dewalt stand

Has anyone had any success mounting a Makita sliding compound miter saw (LS1016L) to the Dewalt Miter saw stand (DWX723 or DWX724)?
The only way to mount the saw to the supplied brackets is to first mount the saw to 3/4″ plywood. Once you do this though the 4.5″ deck height plus the 3/4″ ply is higher than the max height of the outfeed supports.
Wondering if anyone had any good solutions for this.

Only thing holding my makita to a shop made base is 4 -1/4" bolts dropped through the holes. Makes it easy to transport as you
can just pick the saw off, load it and then the base. Point is doesn't take much to fasten it down.
I suppose my first thought would be hole relocation if the stand has any hope for that. 'Course you probably thought the same thing, no?
thank you
