has anybody else mailed in for the free reciprocal saw from makita when they bought the new lion kit?
when i saw the price go down right before christmas at home depot i had to jump on it. i immediately sent the form with the upc symbols from the box and have been waiting anxiously for almost two months now!
about four weeks ago i decided to check out the makita website and there was a notification of sending out the recipro’s in early 2006, when i just looked today it said in the fine print at the bottom of the promo ad that they would begin mailing feb 1 and that it would take 6-8 weeks for delivery.
has anybody else been getting nervous or is it just me? i know i am a little suspicious by nature, (just because i’m paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get me!) but i am beginning to get the old check is in the mail feeling, and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

bump, did anyone else buy the makita kit with the promo? i can't believe i'm the only one out of all you tool freaks that had to get that one. please let me know if you are also waiting, if there is a problem delivering the promised recipro we could strategize.
No, I got it in December. Saw it at 20% off, intended to get it anyway, so that sealed the deal.Sent the stuff in right away and, yes, I'm still waiting.Anxiously.Waiting.Did the UPS truck come yet?Waiting.
ok good thanks tasher, misery loves company so i am glad not to be the only one.
you would think they would at least send us a note saying they got the mail in rebate and are just behind on sending out the tools. i know for me when i have paperwork laying around for to long it gets lost. if they lose the upc symbols how do we replace that?
i was hoping to find a bunch of peoples waiting like us so we couls make some big noise, i have even been putting off a job for a month because i'm saving it to try out my new recipro!
Any rebate, whether it is a computer, tool, tv, etc will take forever. If they say 6 to 8 weeks, your looking at probably 8 to 10 weeks but it will come. I hope you saved copies of everything just in case they "lost" it.
no copies of the upc symbol. curses
The last thing I do before I send in a rebate is photocopy or scan both the rebate form and the receipt, then I write in the date it was done on the copy.
I've had to call to remind companies about their obligations before, months after the waiting period expired. Having copies really helped.Rebuilding my home in Cypress, CA

damn sets $423 on amazon right now (after discounts)
Be patient. I bought their 10" SCM saw when the promotion was a 14 V drill driver. It came, as promised. I've found it ususally takes longer than what anyone tells you it will for any of these promotions/rebates. Best of luck.
Dear Segundo:
I just received my promotion two days ago from UPS. I bought my kit about a week to ten days before Christmas, and sent my materials in promptly.
Although it took a while, the saw is very solid, and seems to perform very well on my tests (although I have not had an opportunity to use it in the field--that will have to wait until this weekend).

I just got it. you should be getting it any time.
Now I need another battery.
How much will that set me back?
