Bought the Makita radio at HD. It’s super small… but heavy… and sounds way better than the milwaukee… really impressed.

what did you pay? seen them for $99 at HD
Wow,
That's a surprise - seems like the Milwaukee had been the sound king all this time compared to the Bosch or Dewalt.
I'm a Bosch guy and have the cd jobbox radio, but had a Milwaukee for a minute when HDtools had them for $54 - it sounded great.
I have a bunch of Makita 14.4 stuff and checked out the radio the other day at HD.
Like that it's small - the Bosch is large and heavy... but don't like that it has no input for an ipod - almost a deal killer for me.
Goo to hear that it sounds great though.
If I was to find one for $55 or less, I'd probably get it just because.

I'm still not gonna pull the trigger on the Makita radio because of the missing jack. As much as I'd like one, you are only getting a radio out of the deal. I don't really need one anyway so it's not gonna kill me not to have it. I'll wait on the next generation.

When you say 'jack', you mean that it doesn't have an input jack to plug in other devices like an Ipod? If that's what you mean, then I agree... it may be a deal breaker.
I also noticed that it said it comes with an 'AC adapter'.... I hope that isn't one of those thin wired bricks.View Image
It is. (thin-wired adapter).JT
Yea that's what I mean about that jack.
It kind of baffels me why they didn't add any extras to it at all.
Pardon my fat fingers.

Me too. Seems it would be a no-brainer in this day and age. Never underestimate the brains behind those no-brainers, I guess. But the brick adapter..... ugghhhhh. That's the real deal breaker for me. Those are for cordless phones and my Daddy's calculator not jobsite tools. What a bummer. I really wanted one too.View Image
LOL I know it. I don't own one jobsite radio and was so waiting for this one. I'd probably just keep it in the shop anyway. Pretty hard to crank out the Dropkick Murphys in bank anyway.
Pardon my fat fingers.

Awww man..... you like the DK Murphy's? Man, you really are a good guy. That's good sh1tkickin' music right there. How good did they sound in the theatre during the Departed? Right on G, right on.View Image
Been a dropkick fan for a long time. They sounded great in the theater except they kept cutting the songs off with dialogue just when they got cranking.
