Doing a third floor deck in mangaris, an ipe alternative, and some of the boards are bowed
1″ over 14′ lengths. I’m hoping to be able to pull these babies straight, but this lumber seems pretty solid. Anybody work with mangaris much. Also it seemed quite waterstained when we recieved it.

what size is your mangaris ?
depending....1" in 14 ft. is next to nothing
4/4 x 6 x 14 . Have you ever worked with this type of wood? I guess for as much as the customer paid for the stuff it should have been straighter.
a lot of our Ipe' has bows like thatwe use a "bow wrench" to take the curves out
if the curve is true and only 1" in 14' , you should be able to get it back to straightworking with IPE takes a premium in labor... i'd guess the same would be true of mangarisMike Hussein Smith Rhode Island : Design / Build / Repair / Restore
We use Mangaris sometimes, and have found it to be more flexible than Ipe but stiffer than Meranti. Bows like yours are not uncommon, but I've only worked with 1x4 or 5/4x6. Like Mike says, use a bow wrench, or if you don't want to buy a new tool than use two wedges to draw the board tight.
